Donating my Blood for Science. R-Lipoic PK Study.

I spent several hours yesterday afternoon helping science. Geronova is conducting another PK (pharmacokinetic) study of lipoic acid, and I volunteered to be a test subject.

When you purchase lipoic acid from Relentless Improvement, you are supporting the groundbreaking scientific research and development that Geronova does.

Dr. Anthony Smith, analytical chemist and biochemist is consulting with Geronova on this project. Dr. Smith is a lipoic acid specialist and has co-authored several papers with Dr. Tory Hagen.

Those with a scientific interest can read his published research on PUBMED at these links:

Vascular endothelial dysfunction in aging: loss of Akt-dependent endothelial nitric oxide synthase phosphorylation and partial restoration by (R)-alpha-lipoic acid.

Lipoic acid as a potential therapy for chronic diseases associated with oxidative stress.

Age-related changes in endothelial nitric oxide synthase phosphorylation and nitric oxide dependent vasodilation.

Plasma membrane-associated endothelial nitric oxide synthase and activity in aging rat aortic vascular endothelia markedly decline with age.

Vitamin C matters: increased oxidative stress in cultured human aortic endothelial cells without supplemental ascorbic acid.

Sarah Fischer, Geronova's Laboratory Coordinator and Licensed Phlebotomist, and me looking around in Lab 1 (upstairs).

Sarah Fischer gets the catheter in place and draws the first sample.

David Carlson, Geronova Director of Research and Development, watches as Sarah spins down my blood samples in the centrifuge.

Dr. Anthony Smith prepares an HPLC analysis of my blood samples in downstairs laboratory 2.

Dr. Smith and David Carlson discuss test results.

With your support, Relentless Improvement documented quality supplements will continue raise the bar for quality and integrity.
