Carnitine, CoQ10 and Lipoic Acid? PUBMED = A Special Synergy

PUBMED has some very interesting research, this is new and not some dusty old rehash:

Beneficial effects of creatine, CoQ10, and lipoic acid in mitochondrial disorders.

"results suggest that combination therapies targeting multiple final common pathways of mitochondrial dysfunction favorably influence surrogate markers of cellular energy dysfunction."

...Complementary and alternative medicine practice and research in type 2 diabetes."Nutrient and botanic medicines with clinical trial research support include coenzyme Q10, carnitine, alpha-lipoic acid..."

Pre-operative preparation for cardiac surgery...
"Sixteen cardiac surgery patients received metabolic therapy consisting of the antioxidants coenzyme Q(10) (CoQ(10)) (300 mg) and alpha-lipoic acid (300 mg), combined with magnesium orotate (1200 mg), and omega-3 fatty acids (3g) given daily for a mean 36+/-7 days up until the day of operation."

"preliminary results suggest that a program of combined metabolic, physical and mental preparation before cardiac surgery is safe, feasible and may improve quality of life, lower systolic blood pressure, reduce levels of oxidative stress and thus has the potential to enhance post-operative recovery."

Recent changes in concepts of antioxidant treatment..."Antioxidant supply from natural sources does not seem to be sufficient for an adequate preventive effect. The author recommends such a combination in which physiological amounts of vitamins C, D, K and B-complex, N-acetylcysteine, vitamin E of natural origin might be complemented by allopurinol, co-enzyme Q-10 and alpha-lipoic acid."

Effects of dietary supplements on the space radiation-induced reduction in total antioxidant status in CBA mice..."...a combination of N-acetyl cysteine, sodium ascorbate, co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10), alpha-lipoic acid, L-SeM and vitamin E succinate could partially or completely prevent the reduction in the plasma level of TAS in CBA mice exposed to proton or HZE-particle radiation."

The research has some common threads, including NAC, CoQ10, Lipoic Acid and Carnitine. The results are compelling. Thanks to some very innovative companies, you have access to the highest grade materials available in the world. Now it is up to you to take action and invest in your future.

I know I have.

Relentless Improvement for Antioxidants

PS I have created a link to this blog post on the R-Lipoic Acid thread on the new Relentless Improvement Forums.
