Central Serous Retinopathy- My Story

A few weeks ago I noticed in one eye it seemed like I had looked into a bright light. You know how that feels. Then, I noticed a blurriness and this weird circular spot in the center of my vison in that eye. Well, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck, and quickly realized there was a problem.

A bit of research on the net yielded a cool test called an Amsler Grid which confirmed my concern. My left eye viewed the grid as if it were a net with a ball in the middle! Yikes.

A quick trip to the local eye doc revealed that indeed there was a retina problem, and I was referred to a retinal specialist. There, they did a huge range of tests culminating in a fluorescein angiography, shooting me up with dye as they took pictures of both retinas. Very cool side-effect of this procedure- I urinated fluorescent yellow for two days! Very trippy.

Anyhow, the diagnosis was confirmed as Central Serous Retinopathy which had left a "water mark" on my retina causing what my doc said would be some degree of permanent vision loss. No treatment, laser would not be helpful.

I am using one of my products- Clear Eye Carnosine eye drops , which have documented efficacy for cataracts and macular degeneration, to see if it will provide beneficial effect. This product contains N-Acetyl-L-Carnosine as a therapeutic supplement. As my baseline is well documented, I will be able to quantify its effects in my three month follow-up visit.

No secret to my readers, I use Ortho-Core daily, and the anti-oxidants, Alpha/Beta-carotene and lutein in it should also be beneficial for my vision.

So the good news is I am alive and feel like a 20 year old, and one eye has 20/15 vision. The bad news- crap happens, and sometimes you have no clue when and where it will strike. The lesson? There isn't one. Just do your best to follow your dream wherever it may lead you, and keep reaching for better health!
